Election Viewing Party
Calling anyone and everyone interested in the 2012 Presidential Election (that?s you): CAB is hosting an election viewing party on November 6 in the Stern Center Ballroom starting at 7:30pm. Cardio Kung Fu
This workout is designed to develop whole-body fitness using techniques that can be practiced anywhere without the need for weights or machines and is for people of all fitness levels. The cardio workout utilizes exercises from a variety of Kung Fu styles that emphasizes core strength, power through plyometrics as well as the mind, body, spirit connection.
Time: Monday & Wednesday 3:00 ? 4:00 p.m.

Cougar Training
Cougar Training is a high impact, high intensity non-traditional workout. This class will test your strength and stamina by pushing your mind and body to the limits. The class will use kettle bells, free weights, medicine balls and a variety of other fitness and strength building apparatuses. The class will utilize a variety of training methods that will keep your body guessing and your mind sharp.

We will be building a perennial herb garden and planting some fall greens in the raised beds so we need lots of help. We will start?at 7am?but you are welcome to show up when you please! Center for Civic Engagement ? Dash for Trash
It?s that time again! The Center for Civic Engagement has started sign-ups for our annual Dash for Trash! Dash for Trash is a litter-collecting scavenger hunt in which student teams help clean up the East Side of downtown Charleston. Partnered with Keep Charleston Beautiful, our office helped create the event as a part of the national Clean Sweep initiative.?

This year, Dash for Trash will be on Saturday, October 20th. You can register teams of 10 students or less on blogs.cofc.edu/volunteer under ?Dash For Trash.? Registration ends Friday, October 12. There will be prizes given out for most points collected, most recyclables collected, and most team spirit. Breakfast and lunch will also be provided.

Dance Marathon at CofC
Dance Marathon 2013 is underway and we would love to get you involved.?
What is Dance Marathon?
?
DM is the largest philanthropic event on campus that raises money for MUSC?s Children?s Hospital. We raise money throughout the year and then have a 17 hour and 70 minute all night celebration for our fundraising efforts. The event consists of free food, interactions with MUSC patients, entertainment, DJs, and of course dancing.?
When is Dance Marathon???DM is February 8-9, 2013.?
How to get involved!
We would love to have you register as a team or individual. Each participant is asked to raise $150, but we will help you fundraise throughout the year with t-shirt sales, change collection, events, and easy e-mail campaigns. The Office of Institutional Diversity (OID) will host the College of Charleston?s 3rd Annual DIVERSITY WEEK
from Monday, October 22nd until Friday, October 26th. This year, OID along with other departments, will be sponsoring the College?s 1st Hip Hop Thursday Block Party on Thursday, October 25, 2012. As a part of the Hip Hop Block Party event, OID will host a Banner Competition to see which student organization can create the best ?Diversity in Hip Hop? banner.
